Alec studied at Kings College London, the Royal College of Music with Olivier Stankiewicz, John Anderson, Juliana Koch and Christine Pendrill. He completed a Masters in Performance with distinction as well as an Artist Diploma in performance. Whilst at the RCM Alec won the Oboe Prize in the Woodwind Competitions in 2018 & 2019.
A keen orchestral and chamber musician, Alec has performed professionally with many orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Philharmonic, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Royal Ballet Sinfonia and the National Symphony Orchestra. Alec’s concert engagements have led to performances at all major venues in London, across the UK and abroad in Europe and North America. He has also recorded on numerous occasions for BBC Radio 3 and BBC4. Alec has performed several times for HM King Charles (when HRH the Prince of Wales) including at Buckingham Palace.
Alec is a committed teacher, principally at Rugby School and more recently at the Sheffield Music Academy and has tutored for the British Double Reed Society.
