Born
in Northampton, Ian Clarke returned to his native town in 1981 after
studies in Cambridge and London, building up a fine musical
tradition over ten years as director of Music at All Saints Church
and winning particular acclaim as an organ recitalist and choir
trainer.
Ian now pursues an active freelance career, he conducts three
choirs, including the highly acclaimed chamber group, the Swarbrick
Singers. He plays with several instrumental ensembles as solo
harpsichordist and organist, including the City
of Oxford Orchestra and the London Harpsichord Ensemble.
Ian’s
keyboard work and instrumental groups take him far afield, and he
has appeared on BBC radio and television as a player and conductor
