The City
of Oxford Orchestra was founded in 1965 with a firm
commitment to provide live, classical music of the highest quality
to the widest possible audience. The Orchestra has played to
acclaim in most of the capital cities of Europe whilst also
providing all-year-round concerts in Oxford's beautiful,
historical buildings, in particular, Sir Christopher Wren's
stunning Sheldonian Theatre.

2015 was a wonderful time of celebration for the Orchestra as we
reached our 50th
Anniversary. Now into
our sixth decade, we are delighted to present our ever-popular
trio of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Our Traditional Christmas Carol Concert and
Christmas Concerto by
Candlelight have been described by the audience as
highlights of their
musical year.
The irrepressible Stephen
Bell welcomes
2017 with his unmissable Viennese
New Year Concert,
which includes special treats from Artist in Residence, Tom
Poster and
soprano Pamela Hay.
Stephen
will then whirl Pamela
and the orchestra to Vienna in an evening you'll never
forget. We look forward to welcoming old friends and new
faces to these delightful evenings. |
