2024 into 2025

Concerts

The City of Oxford Orchestra was founded in 1965 with a firm commitment to provide live, classical music of the highest quality to the widest possible audience.  The Orchestra has played to acclaim in most of the capital cities of Europe whilst also providing all-year-round concerts in Oxford's beautiful, historical buildings, in particular, Sir Christopher Wren's stunning Sheldonian Theatre

Welcome to our 2024-25 Concerts Season

The season opens with our most popular Christmas celebration. Our concerts have been described by our audience as highlights of their musical year.

The Christmas Concerto by Candlelight is a truly magical musical experience in the superb acoustics of Exeter College Chapel.

Our exuberant Artistic Director, Stephen Bell presents his unmissable  Viennese New Year Concert  where, alongside his exciting Strauss selection, he welcomes the ever popular pianist Tom Poster.

Finally, our Diamond Jubilee Concert which takes place 60 years to the day since the orchestra was founded.
