Rebecca was born in Bedfordshire, England and studied at the Royal Academy of Music. She has sung Blonde in ‘Die Entfürung aus dem Serail’ for the Aix-en-Provence Festival conducted by Minkowski, 'Hansel and Gretel' and Carolina in The Secret Marriage for Scottish opera, Casilda in 'The Gondoliers' for English National Opera and the Cricket and Parrott in the World Premiere of Jonathan Dove’s Pinocchio for Opera North and the U.S. Premiere in Minnesota, Dalila in Handel’s Samson for the Buxton Festival, Nanetta in 'Falstaff', 1st Innoccent in the World Premiere's of Harrison Birtwistles The Minotaur and Marie in Rufus Wainwright's Prima Donna and both the Maid in Thomas Adés’ Powder Her Face and Semira in Arne's Artaxerxes at Covent Garden. She was an Associate artist of the Classical Opera Company where she sang Despina in 'Cosi Fan Tutte', Melia in 'Apollo and Hyacinthus' and Elisa in 'Il Re Pastore'. In Paris, she has sung Charmeuse in 'Thais' under Eschenbach at the Chatelet and Ades 'Five Eliot Landscapes' at Radio France with the composer. At the Edinburgh Festival she has sung ‘Adelaide di Borgogna’ with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Giuliano Carella, which was recorded for Opera Rara, Beethoven’s C Minor Mass and ‘Christ on the Mount of Olives’ with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, conducted by David Robertson and Soeur Constance in Poulenc’s ‘Dialogues des Carmelites’ with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, conducted by Stéphane Denève. Other recordings include ‘Cis’ in Albert Herring with Richard Hickox and EMI, Ades Five Eliot Landscapes for Radio France and appearances in BBC2’s Television documentary ‘The genius of Beethoven’ with the English Chamber Orchestra and the role of an singer in Steven Poliakoffs acclaimed BBC2 film Capturing Mary. Other concert engagements include Handel arias with King's Consort at London's Wigmore Hall and the St John Passion with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi, Milan and the role of Cleone in Rossini’s Ermione at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Philarmonic Orchestra under David Parry. Future engagements include the role of Anne Egerman in Sondheims 'A little Night Music' at the Chatelet which is also starring Leslie Caron and Kristin Scott Thomas, after which she shall reprise the role of the Maid in Ades' Powder Her Face at Covent Garden and Marie in Rufus Wainwrights Prima Donna at Sadlers Wells. Later she will also perform the role of Tytania in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream for Garsington Opera.
