Timothy Watts studied at Cambridge University and the Royal College
of Music where he won an exhibition, the Countess of Munster and
Myra Hess awards and the Joy Boughton Prize for oboe. In addition to
guest appearances as Principal Oboe with the English National Opera,
BBC Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra,
Timothy has played with the Welsh National Opera, frequently as
Principal Oboe, and has also worked with many of London’s leading
symphony and chamber orchestras as well as playing for film sound
tracks and West End shows.
Timothy is is a member of the Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra and is Principal Oboe for
English Touring Opera and Southern Sinfonia. He has been Principal
Oboe of the City of Oxford Orchestra for ten years.
