David Rix
Clarinet

David has held teaching positions at the King's School Canterbury, Wandsworth Boys' School, for whose choir Benjamin Britten wrote several works, Alleyn's School and Oakham. Throughout this time he has been solo clarinettist for Richard Hickox, with whom he recorded all Britten's operas, including Peter Grimes, which won a Grammy. David has performed with all the London orchestras and been involved in approximately 200 commercial recordings. he is a regular guest with the BBC Concert orchestra which ususefully fulfils his love of lighter styles including recent appearances with Kylie Minogue and Andrea Bocelli.
